If you’ve completed the Circle of Security: Classroom program, you know that the 9 weeks fly by - and since new material is introduced each week, you’re just starting to digest it all. Now the real work can begin!

Classroom coaching is transformative - not just for teachers, but for children. I’ve seen children who are disruptive, destructive, whiny, argumentative, timid, and fearful, change into kind, caring, brave children who can directly communicate their needs. And this is no surprise, because the teachers themselves showed amazing growth in their areas of struggle, and it was their confident presence that brought about the change in the kids.

Classroom coaching happens cyclically. First, teachers and I will review what we learned in Circle of Security and make plans based on the children’s attachment needs. Then, we’ll have a weekly routine where I observe in the classroom for one hour, then meet with teachers to discuss for an hour outside of class time. Together, we’ll stay curious about what’s going on with the kids, and about their areas of strength and struggle in meeting children’s needs on the Circle.

This work can help improve your relationship not just with the children in your class, but also your coworkers, and even with your romantic partner, your friends, and your own children.
